A 90s Childhood

The more I think about it, I am so fortunate that I grew up in the 90s.  It was a time of boldness with animation and ideas.  The animation (for the most part) was solid and the stories were great.  Yes, of course there was terrible stuff, but there is in any decade.  The only good cartoons now are the ‘sitcom’ ones like The Simpsons and Family Guy.  Kids cartoons are terrible now.  Animators use CGI shit and everything is either ‘edutainment’ or really god damn straight.  Nothing is strange or weird anymore, like Beetlejuice or The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat.  That stuff was strange.  Are You Afraid of the Dark and Goosebumps were awesome shows with awesome stories.  Now…nothing like that exists.  We got to enjoy really strange and entertaining stuff with some ‘umph’ and heart.  Inspector Gadget is a great example.  From the 80s and totally awesome.  Strange, fun, and really entertaining.  Unforgettable music too.  Again, nothing like that exists now.  Maybe some do, but the selection is poor.  Thank God for the 80s and 90s.  Kids now will never understand the epicness that we all went through.  All kids do now is play with iPads and cell phones…FAIL.  There was no internets!  WE HAD YAK BAKS AND GAME BOYS WITH LINK CABLES!  :)
